Donaustern came to us in 2018 via the autumn auction of Klosterhof Medingen and is being gently prepared by Katrin for a career in the big square. In 2019, "Donau" made his debut at the Luxembourg Championships for young dressage horses by winning bronze and in 2020 he secured a 8.1 silver in the class for six-year olds at the Trakehner National Show in Germany. 2021 just seven years old first successes in advanced (S) class were added. In the meantime, series successes in Inter A and Inter B are on the books.

His sire Herbstkönig, who died far too early, was reserve champion of the 2010 Trakehner licensing and became Trakehner Champion in 2011, 2012 and 2014.

The dam Donausonne II also produced Donautänzer (by Hohenstein) who was successful in medium (M) level tests for young dressage horses. Her daughter Donauelfe (by Koenigsmarck) became dam of the licensed stallion Donaumond (by Herbstkönig).

In her pedigree follow the sires Donauwalzer, Sokrates and Morgenglanz.

The granddam is the dam of the two licensed stallions Donaukaiser (by Hohenstein) and Donauzauber (by Distelzar). Her daughter Donauwoge (by Sokrates) produced the licensed and in S-dressage successful Dow Jones (by Kasimir).

The third dam Donauquelle produced the licensed Donaumonarch (by Sir Shostakovich xx) who won international show jumping competitions. Her daughter Donaufürstin vom Klosterhof (by Sokrates) produced the three licensed stallions Donauprints (by Almox Prints J)/S-Jumping, Donaufels (by Hohenstein) and the premium stallion and under Juliane Burfeind Grand Prix successful Donaugold (by Distelzar).

Mare family of the Donaufürstin. Out of these, numerous licensed stallions, such as the 2019 Bundeschampion of Riding Horses and 2021 World Championships-Fifth for Young Dressage Horses, Damaschino (by Danone I), his full brother licensed in Hanover in 2019, Donautanz (by De Niro), Donauglanz (by Morgenglanz), Donauabend (by Abendtanz), Donaufischer (by Sevillano xx), Donauzar (by Distelzar), Donaufürst (by Sokrates), Donaustrom (by Morgenglanz), Gotterfunken (by Graf Faedo), Deinheart (by Dürrenmatt) and many more.
